Let Goode Walks plan your tailored walking experience
Private Guided Walks

Goode Walks can help you enjoy the great outdoors – whatever the type of guided walk you or your group want to go out on.

Want to get out walking but don’t know where to go, or don’t want to go out on your own? Then let someone else do all the hard work for you and create your ideal bespoke guided walk experience.

Whether you’re an individual looking for a private guided walk, a group of family or friends, or any kind of organisation or club looking to get outdoors, then Goode Walks can help you enjoy being out there – doing all the planning, and leading everything on the day for you as your personal walk leader and guide.

We’ll tailor a walk to suit your needs, based on years of experience of the best walking routes in the countryside of Essex, and across East Anglia and South East England:

A walk built just for you

You may have a preferred geographical area you wish to walk in, close to where you live – or somewhere you’ve been longing to explore. We can organise walking adventures across Essex, Suffolk, London, Hertfordshire, out across East Anglia and the South East of England, and further afield in the UK.

When you outline your requirements, let us know the kind of terrain you’d ideally like to walk in – such as field paths, woodland and forests, coastal strips, river banks – and we’ll factor that into the walk selection and planning.

It’s also important that you give us an idea of the composition of your group, average age and fitness of the party and any walking experience, so we can agree the right duration and distance for your walk.

If you are coming to Essex, or another part of East Anglia or south east England – such as Suffolk, Kent or Greater London – on holiday for a few days or visiting the area for longer and would like a walking guide to take you out in the best places to walk for scenic interest, then Goode Walks can definitely help you!

… Let someone else do all the hard work for you and create your bespoke walk experience

There are lots of other things we can factor into the planning process, such as the starting point – in a town or village, or a more remote countryside location – that may mean we can take in refreshments, local shops en route for top-up supplies, or begin or end at a country pub or café.

We’ll also try to build in specific points of interest during the walk, including historical buildings and churches, and elements from the natural world. It’s your walk – let us know what you’d like to incorporate.

Village pub Walk

Starting off from a village like Matching Tye, east of Harlow in north west Essex, your walk could make a circular loop through fields and country lanes to some of the beautiful surrounding villages. Taking around 90 minutes over three miles or so at a gentle pace, you return back to the pub for post-walk refreshments.

Linear River Walk

There are lots of rivers in Essex and the wider area of East Anglia and the South East that lend themselves to excellent linear walks. Finding the right start and finish point for the required walk length and duration – anything from a couple of hours to a full day – the plan can factor in return transport to the start by bus or train.

Countryside Day Walk

If you want a longer private guided walk, of up to 7/8 hours for a full day out in the countryside, there are numerous options for a suitable Goode Walk whatever your location and the geographical area you’d like to go walking in. This could factor in a town or village en route for refreshments or to buy supplies.
